Privacy Policy
This policy explains how NobleNewt LLC ("NobleNewt", "we") handles personal information when you use the NobleNewt platform, including online stores built on NobleNewt and the NobleNewt Studio admin app.
Who is responsible
Online stores built on NobleNewt are run by independent merchants. When you shop at one of those stores, that merchant decides how your information is used for their store, and their own privacy policy applies. NobleNewt processes that information on the merchant's behalf to run the store. For information about merchants and their staff who use NobleNewt Studio, NobleNewt is responsible.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, mobile number and sign-in credentials for store customers and for merchants and their staff.
- Store activity: orders, carts, returns, addresses, and messages between a store and its customers.
- Sign-in codes: when you ask for a one-time sign-in code, we record the request and the email address or mobile number it went to. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
- Early access list: if you ask for early access on noblenewt.com, the email address you enter and the time you entered it.
- Technical information: the pages a store serves, request times, and basic device and network details needed to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To run stores and Studio: sign-in, checkout, orders, shipping, returns and support.
- To send messages you asked for or that relate to an order, such as sign-in codes, order confirmations and return updates.
- To tell people on the early access list when NobleNewt opens to their store, and about the launch.
- To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
Text messages (SMS)
You can add a mobile number to your store account. When you add it and agree to receive codes by text, we send a code to verify it, and later a code when you ask to sign in by text or when two-step verification is on. We use your number only to send these codes. We do not send marketing texts through this program. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See the SMS terms in our Terms of Service.
Who we share it with
- The merchant whose store you use, for their store's information.
- Service providers that help us run NobleNewt, such as Amazon Web Services (hosting, email and text delivery), Cloudflare (network and security), and payment processors such as Stripe and PayPal when you pay at a store. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Legal requirements, when the law requires it or to protect people, stores or NobleNewt from harm or fraud.
Cookies
NobleNewt uses cookies that are needed for sign-in, security and keeping your cart. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. For example: sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes; the content of an email or text is deleted after 90 days while the delivery record is kept for 2 years; records that you unsubscribed or opted out are kept so we never contact you again; and SMS consent records are kept for 5 years after consent ends. An early access email address is kept until NobleNewt opens to that store or you ask us to remove it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information. If you shop at a store built on NobleNewt, you can contact that store, or write to us at garrett@noblenewt.com and we will help. When information is deleted, we keep only what the law requires and a record that stops us from contacting you again. You can reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the relevant store if a breach affects your information as the law requires.
Children
NobleNewt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, give notice through the service.
